This year, the Helmholtz General Assembly takes you on a very special – online - journey to Berlin, Bremerhaven and Brussels:
In Berlin, we will talk to Federal Minister Anja Karliczek about current challenges in science. Afterwards, our corona experts will report on the progress being made in the development of active ingredients and vaccines. A very special highlight will be the return of our research vessel Polarstern from the spectacular Arctic expedition MOSAiC to Bremerhaven, which we will be able to witness live. Reinhold Messner talks to a crew member about climate change and borderline experiences. Afterwards, we will travel to Brussels, where we will have EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel as our guest on the occasion of the German EU Council Presidency. She will discuss with researchers the question of how quantum technologies could revolutionize the world of science. The final highlight will be the announcement of this year’s Erwin Schrödinger Prize winners.
