1. New member of the Talent Management Team at the Head Office: Mona Florian

As of July 1, Dr. Mona Florian has joined the Head Office and the Talent Management team. Her responsibilities include the Young Investigator Group program and a new funding line designed to further diversity and inclusion across the association. Mona is also the contact person for participants of the Academy programs "Leading your group" and "Leading with impact". Previously, Mona worked as a management consultant for the public sector, with a focus on strategy, organizational development and change processes.

2. Helmholtz Academy online: “Inclusive Leadership” and “Unconscious Bias“

Due to great demand, we would like to continue our discussion regarding the concept of inclusive leadership and the challenge of unconscious biases that we started with this year's Leadership Lab. Together with our partner EAF Berlin. Diversity in Leadership, we would like to offer the following sessions as part of our series "Helmholtz Academy online"

   Inclusive Leadership: How leaders can strengthen diversity, inclusion and collaboration
   October 27, 2021, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

   Unconscious Bias - Limiting the impact of unconscious biases in the work context and living Inclusive Leadership
   December 2, 2021, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Participation is limited to 18 participants per session. You should plan about 60 minutes for preparation and follow-up.

3. Start-Up Day 2021 Digital

For the ninth time, the joint Start-up Day of the transfer offices of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Helmholtz Association, the Leibniz Association and the Max Planck Society will take place on September 29, 2021. This year, the event will take place online. The four major German research organizations invite scientists from their ranks who are interested in founding a company.

The event offers a broad spectrum of information on all relevant topics related to commercial and non-profit start-ups. In interactive lectures and practical workshops, participants learn have the opportunity to learn from experienced "sciencepreneurs" and experts and explore their path to a potential spin-off.

4. ZWM Annual Conference New Work@Science!?! Visions and Concepts for the Working World of the Future in Universities and Science Institutions

On October 4 and 5, the State of the Art Conference 2021 of the ZWM will discuss issues and topics of "New Work@Science".

What are visions and concepts for the future of work in the context of universities and research organisations? What is possible, given institutional contstraints? Where can we find best practices?

The one and a half day online conference offers keynotes, an online podium, workshops as well as other exchange formats on specific topics. On the evening of the first day, ZWM invites participants to a virtual  fireside chat.
