Barcamp Session

A barcamp, or unconference is a participant driven meeting. Usually there is no fixed agenda as it will be created by the attendees before the actual discussion rounds start.

Anyone is open to suggest topics of interest. If enough topics are suggested, people are free to join the discussion round in which they are most interested. Participants are free to switch between discussion groups if they wish. During the session, participants have time to discuss their topic freely and sketch a group summary onto a white board. After one hour, the barcamp sessions are over, and one person from each discussion group will present a brief explanation of their topic and the outcomes of the discussion. The theme of these discussions will be 'future of science', which may include topics such as big data, publishing, science ethics, careers, etc. We hope that the discussion outcomes inspire participants to improve the current scientific system.
