Helmholtz Validation Projects

Validation funding from the Initiative and Networking Fund (IVF) supports the transfer of promising research results from Helmholtz Centers into practical application. Funding primarily targets ideas and inventions at early technology readiness levels (TRLs 2–3) whose technical, commercial, or societal viability can be assessed and further developed through application-oriented validation. Projects may include technical feasibility studies, prototypes, preclinical validation, collaborations with industry and application partners, as well as the development of transfer and commercialization strategies.

Projects may receive up to €1 million in funding for a period of up to 24 months.

Submission deadline: October 15, 2026
