Sebastian Ziehm

Sebastian Ziehm is Senator of the Helmholtz Association for the Research Field "Aeronautics, Space and Transport" and Head of Department of Program Management Technology Development at Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH.

Sebastian Ziehm studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart from 1996 to 2002. After graduation, he began his professional career at Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, where he has since held various senior positions.

Between 2003 and 2016, he managed numerous research and technology projects conducted within major national and international funding initiatives. Alongside his professional duties, he completed an executive MBA program at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in 2016. In the same year, he became Head of Technology and Knowledge Management at the Lindenberg site. Since 2018, he has been responsible for research and technology projects, public funding management, and the coordination of Liebherr’s technology strategy in close cooperation with product divisions and external research and industry partners.

In addition to his role at Liebherr-Aerospace, Sebastian Ziehm represents the company in several research and technology committees of the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) and the European association ASD (Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries). He is also a member of the program committee of Bauhaus Luftfahrt in Munich, of which Liebherr-Aerospace is a founding member.
