Key Competence Training
Doctoral students face special challenges. We support them with key competency training.
This English-language qualification program, which is specially designed to meet the needs of doctoral students, is an integral part of doctoral training at Helmholtz. It teaches central methods of scientific work and also offers career advice.
Helmholtz developed the program together with experienced trainers from Imperial College London and the University of Surrey. It comprises three workshops lasting several days, which are oriented towards the individual phases of the doctorate. Doctoral students are thus optimally accompanied:
Workshop 1: Work organization, project and time management, teamwork and communication.
Workshop 2: Presentation techniques, writing training and publication strategies.
Workshop 3: Career planning and development of one's own leadership style
All courses are offered across centers, bringing together doctoral students from a wide range of disciplines. The workshops therefore also provide a platform for interdisciplinary exchange.
The coordinators of the Helmholtz Graduate Schools and colleges will inform you about current dates.
