Dasha Trofimova

Dasha Trofimova develops AI systems for analyzing medical image data, with a focus on robust, scalable models.

Dasha Trofimova is a Data Scientist at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in the Department of Medical Image Computing (MIC). She develops AI-based analytical tools for medical imaging, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). Among other things, these systems detect tumors and support diagnosis, therapy planning, and therapy monitoring.

One focus of her work is on training self-learning models and developing foundation models for complex applications such as 3D radiology. She is researching methods that remain powerful across different datasets, are highly scalable, and deliver stable results in real-world practice.

Trofimova received her doctorate from Heidelberg University and has been working as a Data Scientist at the DKFZ since 2019.
