Who we are
Our network unites six large multidisciplinary European Research Performing Organisations: the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR), the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren, the Leibniz-Gemeinschaft and the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. We as G6 represent more than 140 000 professionals. In 2025, CSIC chairs our network.

Shaping Europe's Future: Research and innovation at the heart of European leadership
This high-level summit organised by STOA and the G6, the informal grouping of the six biggest scientific research organisations of Europe, brings together high-level representatives from the European Commission and the European Parliament, and presidents of G6 organisations to discuss how research can shape the architecture of Europe's future competitiveness landscape.
