[In the name of “Innovation Days” Helmholtz Association and the other leading German research organisations – Max Planck, Fraunhofer and Leibniz – have been offering a joint partnering platform since 2012. Application-orientated scientists, technology transfer experts, business developers and R&D representatives from industry, decision-makers from the venture capital / corporate venture arena come together in an exclusive circle of 300 individuals. Every year a topical focus is chosen for the presentations (pitches) from the 40 best technology and founding projects from the four organisations:
• 2015: Life Sciences (focus on Nutrition & Crop Science) and Physical Sciences (focus on Photonics & Sensor Technologies)
• 2014: Life Sciences (focus on Biotechnology) and Chemical & Physical Sciences (focus on Materials & Lightweight Construction).
• 2013: Life Sciences (focus on medical technology) and Physical Sciences (focus on IT and Communication-Technologies [ICT] & Big Data)
• 2012: Life Sciences (focus on Pharmaceuticals) and Physical Sciences & Engineering (focus on Energy and Clean Tech)
Partnering is the main focus here, which enables intensive discussions in a very efficient framework through an online platform. Moreover, there is an interesting conference programme as well as the highpoint of the evening reception – awarding of the Karl Heinz Beckurts Prize. The “Innovation Days” take place towards the end of the year alternately in Berlin and Munich.
