Numbers
Researchers from the Helmholtz Association collaborate with industry partners, start businesses, license their inventions, and make research infrastructure available. The following numbers reflect these activities:
- Approx. 2,000 joint projects with companies per year
- 150 million euros in revenue from collaborations
- Approx. 400 property rights and patents applied for per year
- A total of 13,000 property rights
- Approx. 1,400 license contracts, option contracts, and transfer agreements per year
- Approx. 20 new high-tech spin-offs per year
We are also engaged in a broad spectrum of collaborative models with partners in business and civil society. This wide range of activities extends from contract research to publicly funded joint projects all the way through to long-term strategic alliances, know-how transfer, and advice. All of these cooperative relationships either develop organically or are specifically supported through other matchmaking formats, such as the Helmholtz Research Days.
