Funding for Joint Research Projects „Helmholtz Sustainability Challenge”:1st Call – Core Projects
Great social challenges pose a multitude of scientific questions. The preservation of our livelihoods and the transformation towards a sustainable society are in manifold ways at the center of the scientific work at Helmholtz. The Helmholtz Sustainability Challenge is dedicated to provide funding for joint research projects in the thematic field of sustainable value chains and networks.
Transdisciplinary research teams are asked to develop problem-oriented solutions. Leading questions are: “What major challenges exist en route to sustainable value chains and a circular economy and what competencies do we need to combine at Helmholtz to overcome them?” The Helmholtz Sustainability Challenge aims at developing and demonstrating practical examples of sustainable value chains/circularity to obtain improved resource and energy use by a combination of technical progress, economic, ecological, and societal innovations.
The first Call for Applications provides funding of the Impulse and Networking Fund for up to three joint research projects (Core Projects).
