Funding programs for leading female scientists

Funding for the initial appointment of outstanding female scientists (W2/W3 program)

This program aims to support outstanding female scientists in their endeavor to secure a first-time appointment to a professorship. Thanks to resources from the Initiative and Networking Fund, this program makes it possible to provide funding for at least five new W2/W3 positions each year. The funding generally amounts to a lump sum of up to €1 million over a period of five years and can be used both for the position and relevant equipment.

Applications are to be submitted by the Boards of Directors of the Helmholtz Centers.
