Young Investigators Workshop 2018

2018 22-27 April 2018, Eibsee-Hotel, Grainau, Germany

This year's Young Investigators Workshop takes place from 22-27 April 2018 at the Eibsee-Hotel in the skiing & hiking paradise of the Bavarian Alps near Grainau. Please see also the poster call attached. Please forward this call and poster to any interested parties. Thank you.

The workshop focuses on the research topics of the Helmholtz Virtual Institute 419. It includes both experimental and theoretical projects on molecular and chemical dynamics, phase transitions and switching as well as fundamental light-matter interaction. We strongly encourage young scientists (PhD students, Master students, and Postdocs) who work in this field to apply for this workshop, and to present and discuss their results in an informal atmosphere. For eligible young researchers this Virtual Institute covers costs for the workshop fee, accommodation, and board.

The workshop format is as follows:

Sunday April 22nd: arrival, dinner/get together, evening talk.
Monday – Thursday: morning session talks - outdoor workshop – afternoon session talks.
Friday April 27th: departure.

Each participant is asked to give a talk (duration: 15 + 5 minutes discussion). Application deadline is Feb. 20th, 2018.

Please apply via email by sending a short cv and a 250-word abstract to grunewald (at) helmholtz-berlin.de.
The number of places is limited.
We're very much looking forward to your applications.
