3D Turbulence imaging (AUG, York)

Simultaneous imaging of microwave emission & backscattered/reflected active-probing signal.

Phased-array using aperture synthesis offers high information per channel with no focusing optics. Existing 2D system on MAST has demonstrated time-resolved meas. of field pitch angle (using EBW), plus images of edge flow.

The proposal is to build and install a 3D system (10 GHz b/w ~ 10cm) to give full volumetric measurements.
