Helmholtz Association

Postdoctoral Students

Effective talent management is essential if we are to continue conducting successful, internationally competitive research in the future, so the Helmholtz Association has made talent management a core component of the Helmholtz culture. The Helmholtz Association has established high standards for training and has a wide range of programmes to support and foster talented young scientists and researchers at all levels – and the postdoctoral phase is a particularly important stage in any career.

The Helmholtz Postdoc Programme is aimed at young academics and scientists at the beginning of the postdoc stage. It is followed up by the Young Investigators Groups Programme, which offers young scientists the opportunity to head their own research group. These measures are complemented by international programmes such as the Helmholtz-Russia Joint Research Groups Programme.

With these programmes, the Helmholtz Association offers up-and-coming young scientists optimal conditions for starting a successful career in research.
