Helmholtz International Research Groups

This new funding instrument is intended to strengthen scientific collaboration between Helmholtz Centres and research institutions abroad. Furthermore, they especially aim at giving young researchers the chance to increase their experience of international projects.

Helmholtz International Research Groups are collaborations with foreign partner institutions that carry out research in fields of common interest. They are funded jointly by the Helmholtz Initiative and Networking Fund (IVF) and the partner institution abroad, initially for a period of three years. During a pilot phase, all member institutions of the Helmholtz Association may apply for funding to form Helmholtz International Research Groups up until 15 March 2013.
