Too Much Salt in Our Food

Increased consumption of salt can lead to massive growth of a group of aggressive immune system cells, which is involved in the onset of autoimmune disorders. This was revealed by an international study involving also the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin-Buch. Autoimmune disorders cause the immune system to attack its own body. The study provided a first indication that the consumption of too much salt could be one of the factors responsible for the increased manifestation of autoimmune disorders.
