School Labs Set New Record
In 2012, the Helmholtz Association's approximately 30 school labs have welcomed and attended to a new record number of pupils: almost 65,000 pupils conducted experiments at these laboratories. Also, more than 800 students and well over 2,200 teachers have participated in advanced training courses. The school labs serve to augment the natural science classes at school and give pupils an impression of what scientific work is like. They thus awaken the interest in this field and facilitate access to natural science topics – an important task in winning over young talent for a career in research.
