Agreement Between Russian Academy and Kurchatov Institute
On 12 February 2013, the first joint session of the executive committee of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and of the scientific council of the Kurchatov Institute took place at the National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute" in Moscow in commemoration of the 110th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian researcher Anatoly Alexandrov. During the session, Prof. Mikhail Kovalchuk, Director of the Kurchatov Institute, and Prof. Yury Osipov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, have signed two strategic agreements: one for the establishment of a partnership in the field of "Establishment, Optimisation and Utilisation of Megascience Facilities" and another one for the creation of a joint centre of excellence in the field of synchrotron and neutron research.
