Position on EEG
UFZ economists around Prof. Dr Erik Gawel have defended the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz EEG). In a position paper titled "False Alarm: Cost Tsunami and Command Economy through Energy Transition?" they reject the criticism of the EEG being solely responsible for the high prices of electricity.
