Top Award for HZI Researcher Zender:

Prof. Dr Lars Zender from the HZI was awarded one of the most important cancer research awards in Germany for his research in the field of tumour formation. His insights regarding the mechanisms leading to the onset of liver cancer, which can be further promoted also by virus infections and disruptions in the body's immune response, were honoured with the Johann Georg Zimmermann Award endowed with 10,000 Euro.
