Hertha Sponer Prize for DESY physicist

For her outstanding work on the path to verifying the Higgs boson, DESY physicist Dr Kerstin Tackmann receives the Hertha Sponer Prize awarded by the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG - German Physical Society). The prize endowed with 3,000 Euro will be awarded in March 2013 in the context of the DPG annual conference in Dresden. The Hertha Sponer Prize is to encourage young female scientists in particular and aims at winning over more women for a career in physics.
