More than 40 per cent of human blood is made up of erythrocytes, that is, red blood cells, which transport the vitally needed oxygen. What is less commonly known: Red blood cells attract each other and thus influence the blood's flow behaviour. With the help of a super-computer at the Research Centre Jülich, it now was possible to ascertain the intensity of this attraction and its effects. You can find out more about this in our August podcast.
