HZB Chemist Amongst Top 100
According to the current Thomson Reuters special report ranking, Prof. Dr Michael Giersig, scientist at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Helmholtz Centre Berlin, is among the world's top 100 chemists and material researchers. Giersig is a specialist for nanomaterials and their application in electronics and biomedicine. The ranking is based on the impact the scientists have, determined by the number of publications during the past ten years and the frequency with which these publications have been quoted. With position 74 in the field of chemistry and position 83 in the discipline of material sciences, Michael Giersig is one of only two German scientists represented in both disciplines.
