Prof. Gasser Receives Zülch Prize 2011:

For his research on hereditary types of Parkinson's disease, Prof. Dr Thomas Gasser, spokesman for the Tübingen site of the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and director at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (HIH) and at the University Hospital Tübingen (Centre for Neurology with emphasis on neurodegenerative disorders), is awarded the K. J. Zülch Prize 2011. The Gertrud Reemtsma Foundation, held in trust by the Max Planck Society, awards the prize each year to honour outstanding achievements in the field of neurological basic research. Prof. Gasser shares the prize, which is endowed with a total of 50,000 Euro, with Prof. Robert L. Nussbaum from the University of San Francisco.
