Dr Düzel Receives Sponsorship Award "Ageing and Work":

Dr Sandra Düzel, scientist at the Magdeburg site of the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), received the sponsorship award "Ageing and Work 2011" donated by the Marie Luise and Ernst Becker Foundation. The prize endowed with 10,000 Euro is to give young scientists the opportunity of conducting a research project focusing on the role of older jobholders. In how far does one's own view of ageing influence the attitude regarding one's professional future? Which strategies are there for promoting professional performance capability in old age? With the foundation's award money, Düzel will investigate in how far physical training can improve the motivation of older people to remain active and to deal with innovation in the workspace. Her research work will bridge the gap between neurobiological and psychosocial factors. The award ceremony will take place in November 2011.
