Bavarian State Prize for IPP Trainees:
Michael Straubinger was awarded the Bavarian State Prize for his excellent graduation with the top mark of 1.0. The 20-year-old IT specialist trainee from Postmünster in the administrative district of Rottal-Inn thus is one of three alumni at the State Vocational School I Passau, whom the government of Lower Bavaria distinguishes with the State Prize in recognition of their achievements. Over the course of the past three years, Michael Straubinger received his practical training as an IT specialist for system integration at the data processing centre Garching, which is operated by the Max Planck Society and the IPP. Tobias Lindhuber from the IPP was likewise distinguished. The now 18-year-old from Buch am Erlbach in the administrative district of Landshut completed his office administration training in two years only. He acquired his theoretical knowledge at the Dr. Herbert Weinberger School in Erding, where he now graduated as the best office administrator of his year, for which he received the Bavarian State Prize awarded by the government of Upper Bavaria. Each year, approximately ten traineeships in the fields of electronics and computer sciences as well as office administration are assigned at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching.
