Josef Puchta Nominated Honorary Professor

During a ceremony, Prof. Dr Dieter Leonhard, President of the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, named Dr Josef Puchta, Administrative-Commercial Director of the German Cancer Research Centre DKFZ in Heidelberg honorary professor. The Mannheim University of Applied Sciences thereby recognises his great commitment as a lecturer in study and teaching for many years on the one hand and his merits in supporting the university in the fields of science and science policy on the other. With this appointment Josef Puchta is made a member of the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences.

Josef Puchta was born in 1954 in Altötting, studied economics at the universities in Augsburg and Erlangen-Nürnberg and received his doctorate in economics at the University of Oldenburg. In 1983 and 1984, Josef Puchta spent research periods in Canada. From 1987 to 1992, he worked in Berlin at the German Foundation for International Development and in the Senate Department of Economics and Technology of the State of Berlin. In 1992, Josef Puchta was appointed Administrative Director at the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Potsdam and since 1 August 1996 he holds the post of Administrative-Commercial Director of the German Cancer Research Centre DKFZ.
