Dr Joachim Knebel Receives Pro Europe - European Foundation for Culture Award
Joachim Knebel, Chief Science Officer at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and spokesman for the Helmholtz Nuclear Safety Research Programme, is this year's European Cultural Award for Science laureate. The award is granted in recognition of his scientific merits in the technology field of "partitioning and transmutation" to reduce the radiotoxicity of highly radioactive waste and the closing of the nuclear fuel cycle connected with this.
