Magnetic Field Record at HZDR
HZDR researchers have created a non-destructive magnetic field of 91.4 Tesla at the High Magnetic Field Laboratory Dresden (HLD). They thus exceeded the world record of about 89 Tesla set by the Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA in 2005. Every year, some 70 user groups from all over the world come to Dresden to conduct experiments in magnetic fields of very high intensity. In doing so, the focus is particularly on research regarding super- and semi-conducting materials. The HLD closely cooperates with the three other European user laboratories in Nijmegen (The Netherlands), Toulouse and Grenoble (France).
