Call for Proposals for Klaus Tschira Prize for Understandable Science 2012:
As in every year, the Klaus Tschira Foundation is looking for young scientists, who write about their research and results in an illustrative and, above all, generally understandable manner. The Klaus Tschira Award "KlarText!" for understandable science is awarded in the fields of biology, chemistry, information technology, mathematics, neurosciences and physics as well as in closely related fields. A jury of journalists and scientists awards one prize in each of these six areas of expertise. The awardees' research results will be published in a special supplementary issue of the popular science magazine "Bild der Wissenschaft". In addition, the prize winners are awarded prize money to the amount of 5,000 Euro each. All scientists who earned their doctorate in 2011 or in the time leading up to the closing date of 29 February 2012 in one of the areas of expertise named above can apply for the award.
