HZB-Scientist receives Bequerel Prize

Professor Hans-Werner Schock, institute director and speaker of the solar energy research division at the HZB, has been awarded the Becquerel Prize by the EU Commission in honour of his life’s work in the field of photovoltaics. In the 1980s Schock supervised the first pioneering experiments on chalcopyrite-based solar cells, which were supposed to make solar energy more efficient and less expensive.
