Falling Walls in Berlin
From 7 to 8 November representatives of science, the arts, politics and industry will meet at the Falling Wall Conference in Berlin to identify walls to be toppled in the future. The topics range from the challenges in dealing with nuclear waste and the consequences of neo-capitalism in China and India to the new intercultural visions of the three major monotheistic religions. Speakers include Federal President Christian Wulff, the artist Olafur Eliasson and the Helmholtz researchers Helmut Dosch (DESY) und Joachim Knebel (KIT). Jürgen Mlynek, president of the Helmholtz Association, and Reinhard Hüttl (GFZ) will moderate one meeting.
