Alleviating cystic fibrosis symptoms in mice

Working with university partners, a research team at the Helmholtz Centre in Munich has made a breakthrough in treating mice with cystic fibrosis. The results were published in the cover story of the September issue of Nature Medicine. By blocking a specific receptor, researchers were able to prevent immune cells from cross-linking, which improved the lung function of the sick mice.
