Research Press Spokesperson of the Year:
Dr Stefanie Seltmann, head of press and public relations at the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ) has been elected research spokesperson of the year in the category "Universities and Research Establishments". Back in 2009, Helmholtz Association spokesperson Thomas Gazlig was honoured as the best research spokesperson. For the selection, the specialist magazine "Medizin- und Wissenschaftsjournalist" called upon journalists working in the German-speaking regions to evaluate with work of research press spokespersons in the areas of business, universities and research establishments as well as research organisations. Around 800 journalists rated the communicators according to their professionalism, journalistic skills, understanding of journalistic necessities and the level of the information provided and selected the best press spokespersons in three categories.
