In Brief
Internet Portal for Top Female Researchers
In cooperation with Spektrum der Wissenschaft and the German research organisations, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has developed an Internet portal for outstanding female researchers. The aim of AcademiaNet is to aid in identifying suitable candidates to serve on scientific bodies and in management positions. This should result in a significant increase in the percentage of women in management positions in science. The portal already contains over 500 profiles of researchers from the German-speaking regions who were suggested by scientific organisations. The Helmholtz Association recommended over 30 excellent female scientists including Helmholtz young scientist group leaders and graduates of the Helmholtz Academy. In the coming years, AcademiaNet is expected to grow and possibly be expanded to all of Europe.
