New DLR Board:

During the Senate's session, Dr Gerd Gruppe was appointed new member of the board of Aerospace Management at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). Until now, Gruppe was head of the Department Innovation, Research, Technology at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology. During his term of office at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, he was responsible, amongst other things, for aerospace in Bavaria. Prior to his work at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, he worked as head of the Division for Applied Research with a focus on aerospace, mechatronics and medical technology at the same ministry. Dr Gerd Gruppe studied  engineering for mining at the RWTH Aachen.
