Beckurts Award 2012 for „6D-Vision“ procedure

This year's Karl Heinz Beckurts Award goes to Dr Uwe Franke, Dr Stefan Gehrig and Dr Clemens Rabe. The three Daimler AG researchers receive the award endowed with 30,000 Euro for their development of a "6D Vision" procedure supporting drivers in confusing traffic situations. Next year, Mercedes-Benz will for the first time offer the "6D Vision" system in serial production and, according to its own statements, intends to make it available also to other manufacturers.

The Karl Heinz Beckurts Foundation was established by the Helmholtz Association in 1987 and strives to promote partnerships between science and industry.
